Morning Feed

LETS MAKE EVERY WEEK RESTAURANT WEEK: Maybe you missed Restaurant Week in August or Baby Panda Week at the National Zoo in December, but there is no reason to be the last to know again. We are putting you on notice about Winter 2006 Restaurant Week.

146 eating establishmets, mostly in DC, will offer a fixed priced menu for lunch and dinner. It's brilliant. Dine like a Senator or better yet dine like a lobbyist who owns a Senator. If you are a lobbyist bill the client full fare and pocket the difference. Restaurant week is a win-win for everyone!

Hey restaurants why not have Restaurant Week Mondays year round? Your dining rooms will be more crowded and, if the food is good, folks will be excited to come back over the weekend or later in the week at full fare. As it now works from Jan. 9 until Jan. 15, you pay only $20.06 for lunch and $30.06 for dinner at select restaurants when you order the special prix fixe menu.

Check out flashy Indian Rasika or celebrity chef Richard Sandovol's Zengo. Cant get to New Orleans because it washed away? Try Acadiana Restaurant.

ONE LINERS

The number of murders in DC is down again as discussed here.

A housing slowdown could be a drag on the economy.

The National Park Seminary in Silver Spring gets a remake as a housing complex.

Love your site. A little bit of DC News, a little real estate bubble info, flash of culture and events going on, a dash of humor and irony. Thanks!

Brilliant idea. The only people who wouldn't want an ongoing restaurant week deal are the servers.
